Best Smelling Flowers For Proposals

When getting engaged every single detail matters. This is a moment you want to remember forever. Each detail should be unique to you and your partner’s love story. I personally think you can do so much with flowers to make your proposal special. The smell of flowers can really transform your proposal experience which is why I have done some research for you! I have compiled a list of flowers perfect for any engagement.

If you’re a fan of purple, or your partner is, this is a flower that is not to be passed up! The wisteria flower is a beautiful light purple hanging plant that has an abundance of smell but you have to get the right kind. There are a couple of variations, but the one you want to have is the Chinese wisteria. It has a supple sweet smell that tantalizes the nostrils so that you will always associate your proposal with that Chinese wisteria.

The next flower I chose was frangipani which to me sounds like an Italian flower, but it’s not! The small white and yellow five petal flower is quite exotic. Sometimes you will see it in variations of pink as well. If your partner loves exotic flowers and has more than one favorite color that includes yellow and pink, you may want to consider this one when proposing. With each of these varieties there is a variation of smell as well. All of them have an exotic small but they are typically sweet like pineapple, banana, or plum, but can also have a hint of roses depending what strain you have. A very cute flower that can add the perfect detail to your engagement while also making your partner entranced by the smell and make your proposal so much more magical!

This next one might be my favorite! Chocolate Cosmos make the list for an obvious reason, they have the scent of chocolate! How cool is that? This is a red flower that is mainly found in Mexico but at Enchanting Engagements in New York City, nothing is off limits! Can you imagine proposing to your significant other while the room smells like chocolate?!? Maybe add some roses so it smells like chocolate roses! What an incredible combination for a romantic proposal!

My final suggestion for flowers is Lilac. Ever since I was a child I have always loved this flower, the smell from them is so pungent and recognizable. The light pink and purple color is also easy to decorate around when thinking about the other details of the proposal. If you put a few bouquets of lavender around the area where you’re proposing, you will definitely smell the strong but sweet fragrance of this flower. They are also often associated with spring, which comes with the symbolization of new beginnings, perfect for a proposal!

At Enchanting Engagements, we can provide any flower you want for your proposal. With the luxury of being in New York City, it’s rare that we find something that we can’t provide because everything is possible in this glorious city!
