The Best Season to Propose

I don’t think that any season is better than another to propose. The reason being is, I think that depends on who you are proposing too and what seasons they like. Every person is different and will react to seasons differently. I personally don’t love the cold, so a winter proposal with snow is not ideal to me. Someone who loves winter sports and goes skiing every weekend would probably love a snowy proposal with heaps of flowers at the top of a ski mountain. It’s also important to think about who you want to share the news with. If you want to announce it to all of your family members sometimes it’s smart to get engaged around the holidays. It’s always exciting to attend Thanksgiving or Christmas parties and announce to everyone you’re engaged. Also, this way everyone hears at once and no one will feel like they are the last to know. It’s also nice to show everyone all once, and you might find it a relief to tell the story once rather than multiple times through texts or phone calls.

Of course, it is important to think about what they like. My advice is, what seasons does your partner love most? Would a proposal at dusk on a June night on a rowboat in central park, where she can wear a cute dress and heels fancy her? This way you can enjoy a nice cocktail on the water and then walk over to one of New York’s exclusive restaurants right in central park. Then you will enjoy one of the most exciting dinners of your life as a newly engaged couple! Summertime also allows for some of the most incredible flower decorations that could really blow her away if she is someone who loves color and exotic flowers. It’s also the best time to have an outdoor party to celebrate your engagement and invite all of your friends. It’s easier to invite more people to an outdoor setting to celebrate your proposal than indoors. Or does she love the fall colors, and fall fashion? The colors of fall can be so romantic and great for proposal photos. Everyone loves a photo with vibrant leaves and you’re able to wear the comfiest chic clothes. Not to mention there are so many easy photoshoot backgrounds that don’t cost any extra on your budget. It’s so easy to go to a farm and do apple picking and show off your new engagement ring in a few photos.  If you’ve been dating for a while you probably already know what your significant other person loves. Go with what you know about them and choose a season to propose off of that!
